HQ Trivia $250K Madness – Crypto Payday Anyone?

By Daily Hodl Staff

HQ Trivia, the super sticky mobile app trivia game that’s sweeping the US, airing twice each day, has awarded its biggest cash prize to-date of $250,000. Twelve trivia buffs bagged $20,833.33 each for answering all 15 multiple choice questions correctly.

One of the self-proclaimed lucky winners, Mike Sharkey, followed up with a tweet for crypto investors, saying he’s doing a giveaway of $5,000 in cryptocurrency. According to his tweet, participants just need to retweet and follow for a chance to win.

Mike Sharkey doesn’t appear on the leaderboard, however. Is this a nod for HQ to do a lucky crypto giveaway?

Last night’s game was sponsored by Warner Bros. on the eve of the release of Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi film “Ready Player One,” arriving in theaters today. The partnership transformed HQ’s usual nightly take of $5,000 to the all-time high prize of $250,000.

HQ is hosted by HQutie Scott Rogowsky, who dazzles his way through the daily mobile app game show with so much pep and fire (is he singing, rapping, tap dancing?), we want to give him a Tony award.

He and his team have reeled in an HQ audience that has swelled to over 2 million players from tweens to adults. Says 13-year-old Alana, who attends middle school in Calabasas, California, “My friends and I have a weekly Wednesday ritual of gathering at lunch and putting our millennial minds together to try to win HQ. Hasn’t happened yet, but we keep trying.”

Editors’ Note: We took an HQ nosedive on last night’s David Hasselhoff question. Sorry, Bruce Springsteen!
