According to The Korea Times, “Monachain also enables users to create their own digital wallet and use financial services. The company is currently preparing for digital community currency business in cooperation with local banks.”

LGCNS – the IT service unit of LG – is handling the roll-out of the technology.

“Monachain can help business owners boost productivity as the company provides a digital supply chain management system that enables suppliers to manage the entire production processing efficiently,” LG said in a statement.

The Monachain standard will be interoperable across several systems and services. Clients will be able to use devices to make payments, send wires and authenticate using PIN, fingerprint or other biometric solutions.
