Binance Back Online After Alert to Customers and Reports of Empty Wallets

By Daily Hodl Staff

Binance is back online after extending a system upgrade and warning customers about potential issues on the platform.

The cryptocurrency exchange initially planned to suspend trades and withdrawals for about four hours during maintenance, but an automated warning from the company’s “risk management system” triggered a delay.

The exact cause of the delay is still unknown.

On Reddit and Twitter, users reported a number of issues on the platform during the maintenance period, such as zero balances showing on the app.

According to Binance, everything is now resolved and trades, deposits and withdrawals have resumed as usual.

Downtime and system maintenance is common on cryptocurrency exchanges, as they work to meet demand and prevent hacks and malicious activity.
