It’s not exactly an SEC-certified Bitcoin ETF, but a new meme on Twitter has sparked an earnest request for a bromance between Elon Musk and the CEO of Binance Changpeng Zhao. If either of them put a ring on it, it could light the way to mainstream crypto adoption.
Musk fans and crypto enthusiasts are hoping for a match – a sign from the billionaire entrepreneur that he’ll make Bitcoin a bona fide payment option for Tesla. Crypto king CZ already tweeted on Monday that if Musk starts accepting crypto, he’ll buy a Tesla.
When Musk asked Twitter users to send him their “dankest” memes, he kicked off a meme stream.
Among the thousands who issued retweets and replies, @tommyp408 introduced Musk to his new buddy CZ.
CZ, who hopped along for the ride, retweeted the meme.
As for Musk, he may have some love to spare.
In a separate tweet, he thanked Tesla owners and supporters, writing, “We wouldn’t be here without you,” which prompted kudos and a flurry of red hearts.
