eToro CEO Will Join Tron’s Justin Sun at Upcoming Power Lunch With Warren Buffett and Charlie Lee

By Daily Hodl Staff

Tron and BitTorrent CEO Justin Sun is gearing up to meet legendary investor and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett for lunch in San Francisco. eToro CEO Yoni Assia has just announced that he will attend the meeting on July 25th, joining more colleagues in the cryptosphere, including Litecoin creator Charlie Lee and Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire who have also announced their attendance.

Sun won an invitation to dine with Buffett after placing the winning bid of $4.56 million at the legendary investor’s annual charity event for the Glide Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides services for the homeless in San Francisco.

While Sun says he doesn’t presume that he and his crypto friends can flip Buffett, an outspoken crypto critic who has called Bitcoin “rat poison” that is suited for fools and gamblers, the meeting provides an opportunity to bridge the schism. It also gives Sun a chance to tell Buffett about blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies first-hand, as Sun believes Buffett has gotten bad information about the industry.

eToro’s seat at the table itself marks a bridge. The social trading and multi-asset brokerage company was founded in 2007 before expanding into cryptocurrencies. It launched Bitcoin trading via CFDs in 2013 and added support for Ethereum, XRP, Litecoin and other cryptocurrencies in 2017. The company reports that it now has over 9 million users around the world trading traditional financial assets as well as cryptocurrencies.
