Dunn tells his Twitter followers that he should have put his videos on decentralized platforms a long time ago.

“This is a clear example of why we need to decentralize the web!”

Dunn shares a screenshot that shows he’s appealing the removal of his video content with the following titles:

  • The Future of Initial Coin Offerings (ICO’s)
  • 17 Lessons for Traders and Investors
  • 50 Crypto Trading & Investing Lessons From The Past 5 Years
  • Is Bitcoin Really Money?

Each of the titles is tagged as “harmful or dangerous content”. YouTube’s policy details a number of characteristics that lead to objectionable content.

  • Extremely dangerous challenges
  • Dangerous or threatening pranks
  • Instructions to kill or harm
  • Hard drug use or creation
  • Eating Disorders
  • Violent Events
  • Instructional theft
  • Hacking
  • Promoting dangerous remedies or cures

The removals have sparked a debate about Dunn’s next best move, with content creators in the cryptosphere suggesting alternative platforms such as LBRY, decentralized, censorship-resistant protocol, as well as Streamanity, Uptrennd, and social media giant Twitter, among others.

Twitter user and Bitcoin supporter Paul McNeal #BTC20K writes,

“Replying to @ChrisDunnTV I heard about you on @AltcoinDailyio & @crytp0snews channel and I think Crypto folks should publish their video content to Twitter. I think Twitter is staring an opportunity in the face rn. @jack I am sure you are licking your chops rn? I am done with Facebook and Google.”

Responds crypto advocate Mitch,

“Actually I unequivocally disagree! Rn twitter is a ‘Centralized’ network! That in itself poses risks of falling under the same ‘Red Tape’ that YouTube is portraying with this action! I believe NOW is the time for decentralized ‘Networks’ to come into play, such as @VibraVidInc.”

In a video hosted on YouTube as well as LBRY, content creator Omar Bham, who has 119,000 YouTube subscribers, responds. He wants to know if YouTube is outright censoring crypto content.

According to Bham, many crypto YouTubers seem to be having videos removed and getting channel strikes, a process that can lead to the complete takedown of a channel.
