LP Royale is a fun and free to use educational platform designed to teach beginners about decentralized finance (DeFi) and how to become a liquidity provider (LP) through an immersive simulated experience. Players compete to become the best LP, learning and using real LP techniques of balancing and rebalancing their portfolio and monitoring their pools, in order to get to the top of the leaderboard.
Using API.Vision’s robust reporting and analytics features, players will get a taste of what being an LP is really like but without the fraught nerves, twitchy eyes and shaky hands typically associated with being an LP, since they’re playing with simulated funds. Not only is it risk-free because there’s no real money at stake, but players also get the bonus of being able to win amazing prizes if they get to the top of the leaderboard.
DeFi has recently exploded in popularity, attracting retail and institutional investors who have collectively locked up over $100 billion. To both new and experienced investors, they see the value and potential in becoming LPs themselves something that was never possible prior to DeFi. However, for the uninitiated and inexperienced investor, it can be complicated and dangerous, leading to getting burned and losing funds, which negatively affects the DeFi space and scares people off. Many sit on the sidelines, uncertain how to get started, given the increasing complexity of the space.
APY.Vision heard from many of its new users that they wanted a better onramp to the DeFi space and becoming an LP, especially as they were just starting out. Since it didn’t exist, API.VIsion decided to build it themselves. Drawing upon years of experience in the gaming industry, as well as knowledge of how to help new users learn about crypto, the team set about building a game that would make it fun and interesting to learn about DeFi and being an LP. They wanted to build a game that anyone, even those with limited crypto knowledge and experience, could pick up and start learning right away. Most importantly, they wanted to de-risk the process, having been burned firsthand by their own foray into the complex space and wanting to prevent others from having those same experiences.
When looking for a partner, they immediately thought of Uniswap, a leader in the DeFi space and an automated liquidity protocol that connects LPs and traders directly. As big fans and users of Uniswap themselves, the team wanted to have Uniswap be the first onramp for new users to the DeFi and LP space. With a generous grant from Uniswap, they were able to bring LP Royale to life and are excited to take more steps to accomplish their vision of converting 100 million people into being LPs.
