Bitcoin Stocking Stuffers? Cash App Rolls Out BTC Gifting Feature for the Holidays

By Daily Hodl Staff

Holiday shoppers now have the option of gifting a little bit of Bitcoin (BTC) to their friends and family.

Cash App has rolled out a new gifting feature for Bitcoin and stocks, according to an announcement on Twitter.

Says the mobile payment service,

“With Cash App, you can now send as little as $1 in stock or Bitcoin. It’s as easy as sending cash, and you don’t need to own stock or Bitcoin to gift it.

So this holiday season, forget the scented candles or novelty beach towel, and help your cousin start investing.”

A recent survey published by crypto financial services firm BlockFi survey indicated one in 10 Americans planned to gift crypto this holiday season. However, less than 25% of the survey’s respondents said they actually knew how to give crypto as a present.

In terms of the respondents’ preferences for both giving and receiving crypto, 75% named Bitcoin as their crypto asset of choice, followed by Dogecoin (DOGE) and then Ethereum (ETH).

One in four of the survey’s respondents also said they planned to purchase crypto next year.

BlockFi surveyed 1,262 male and female US citizens between the ages of 18 and 65, between October 19th and October 26th.
