President Trump Highlights New Child Savings Accounts as Some Families Face Delays

By Daily Hodl Agent and Daily Hodl Staff

President Trump is promoting a new federal initiative that provides $1,000 in seed funding for savings accounts aimed at American children.

The program launched on July 4th, 2026, reports Marshall Independent.

Eligible babies born between January 1st, 2025, and December 31st, 2028, receive the Treasury deposit, which goes into tax-deferred accounts invested in low-cost U.S. stock index funds.

Trump says more than 7 million accounts are already active since the rollout began.

Parents or guardians can add contributions up to $5,000 annually, and employers have the option to contribute as well.

The funds remain locked until the child reaches age 18, when withdrawals support education, business startups or home purchases.

Trump describes the effort at a Georgia rally as the government returning resources to families for long-term growth.

Most applicants receive the seed money within one or two days after approval, according to the U.S Treasury Department.

But some parents report longer waits of up to four weeks, particularly after initial application issues are resolved through support hotlines.

Treasury officials compare these cases to standard tax refund processing and note that only a small fraction of applicants require extra assistance. Says the Treasury Department,

“With roughly 1 million sign-ups per month before launch, Trump Accounts have become the most popular and successful government-backed savings product in U.S. history.”

The accounts aim to build financial security from birth for future generations.
