A New York-based firm is preparing to pay workers a total of $162 million in a proposed class action settlement.
Public Partnerships LLC agreed to the proposed $162 million settlement in Calderon et al. v. Public Partnerships LLC, according to court filings.
The lawsuit was launched because the firm, which handles payroll and benefits for New York’s Medicaid personal assistants, allegedly failed to pay workers on time and accurately.
Plaintiffs accused the company of systematic violations of wage and hour laws through faulty payroll and timekeeping systems that caused widespread delays and underpayments affecting approximately 200,000 class members.
The complaint claims the defendant delayed payments and underpaid for hours worked through public programs over an extended period.
The proposed settlement seeks preliminary approval from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York as of June 23, 2026.
Eligible individuals may receive pro-rata distributions from the fund after deductions for fees and costs.
The company denies all wrongdoing but agreed to the resolution to avoid further litigation.
