The Management Association (MRA) is preparing to pay class members hundreds of thousands of dollars as part of a class action settlement over data breaches.
The human resources management organization agreed to the settlement resolving claims from breaches discovered in July 2023 and January 2024, reports ClassAction.org.
The lawsuit was launched because the association allegedly failed to adequately protect personal information from unauthorized access.
The plaintiff, Susan Giasson, accused the firm of insufficient security measures that led to the potential exposure of sensitive data, including full names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, credit and/or debit card numbers, medical histories, health benefits and enrollment information, financial account numbers with passwords or routing numbers, and tax ID numbers.
According to the lawsuit, the lapses caused harm to individuals whose information was compromised in the incidents. Court documents show that 36,434 people are members of the class action lawsuit.
Eligible individuals can receive the funds via check or electronic payments on a pro-rated basis. Class members can update their address or choose to get the money via PayPal, Venmo or Zelle using this portal on or before October 7th, 2026.
The settlement addresses multiple breach events reported over several months.

The MRA denies wrongdoing but agreed to the payout to end the litigation. A final approval hearing is slated for August 21st, 2026.
