Cardano creator and Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson says Bitcoin is largely misunderstood due to an abundance of false notions.
In a recent YouTube video, Hoskinson explains why the leading cryptocurrency continues to be shrouded in mystery.
“I started with Bitcoin and started with something called the Bitcoin education project. The goal there was to try to bring as many people as possible into our ecosystem and to also dispel a lot of the common myths, fear, uncertainty, disinformation, and misnomers and things that have been cropping up. In 2013, there was certainly a lot of them, and unfortunately today there’s even more.
The reality is despite the fact that Bitcoin is pervasive with millions of people in our ecosystem and mainstream knowledge of it, very few people actually understand what Bitcoin actually is.”
To banish the dark clouds surrounding Bitcoin, Hoskinson has created a 42-minute explainer video and is calling on his fellow leaders in the cryptocurrency space to follow his lead.
The Cardano founder was inspired to make the video after J.K. Rowling showed interest in the top cryptocurrency. The acclaimed “Harry Potter” series author has asked the crypto community to explain what Bitcoin is. Rowling tried to wrap her head around the dominant cryptocurrency but the lack of an elegant and clear-cut description has apparently sapped the author’s curiosity.
