The Big Bang Theory, a smash TV hit with an average of 17 million viewers, will soon collide with Bitcoin, the sensational cryptocurrency that has risen 10-fold in 2017.
“The Bitcoin Entanglement” is the ninth episode of the eleventh season of the American sitcom. The episode will air on November 30, 2017. The plot involves a valuable bitcoin investment, a laptop and a friend who feels betrayed after getting cut out of a potentially lucrative cryptocurrency trade.
The episode, wrapped in crypto language about mining and wallets, is expected to garner over 12.6 million viewers – another potential boon for Bitcoin.
As Bitcoin approaches $10,000 by reaching a new wave of adopters, TV producers are introducing viewers to the digital currency through inventive plot lines. Bitcoin has been the focus of several shows including CSI Cyber’s “Bit By Bit”, The Simpsons, House of Cards, Parks and Recreation, Silicon Valley, The Good Wife and several others.
