Scorum is leaping into the world of fantasy sports and online betting. Billed as a one-stop sports media platform powered by the blockchain, Scorum will issue its crowdsale on January 14, 2018 at 16:00 GMT, with 18.6 coins allocated from a total of 20 million. Its pre-sale has already closed with $800K raised.
Scorum promises to offer its users an optimized sports blogging platform inspired by STEEM, as well as an AI-enabled statistics center and a commission-free betting exchange.
The goal is to reward engaged participants, including content creators and curators, with cryptocurrency. Community members will earn coins by publishing posts, voting, commenting and uploading photos. Scorum’s betting platform will allow sports fans to bet and trade in real-time.
“While sports media websites profit from 8.5 million monthly visits, their audience doesn’t get a cent,” notes Vladislav Artemyev, CEO of Scorum. “We decided to solve this problem by combining blockchain technology with a strong economic model. Our solution has three core principles: supporting cryptocurrency with real economy, rewarding all of the participants of the Scorum ecosystem, and distributing benefits in a clear and fair manner moderated by the user community.”
Timofey Mozgov, Alexander Hleb, Anna Sidorova, Alexandra Patskevich and other prominent athletes support Scorum’s aspiration to transform sports media on the blockchain.
