Fake Cryptocurrency Apps Tricking Thousands on App Store, Google Play

By Daily Hodl Staff

A huge number of fake crypto apps are circulating on the App Store and Google Play, all trying to steal your precious crypto dough.

One in particular is pretending to be the official app for the exchange Poloniex – which doesn’t even offer an app on smartphones.

The fake app is simply called “Poloniex”, and has already duped thousands of users. The con job is working so well it triggered an official warning from the real Poloniex on Twitter.

If you do decide to download a crypto-related app, go to the respective company’s website to confirm they actually have an app and obtain the correct link to the App Store or Google Play.
