Let’s Talk About Porn, Baby – and Verge (XVG) and VR and Crypto

Say hello to porn – the elephant in the room, the guilty pleasure use-case that just may give cryptocurrency some of the mainstream “legitimacy” it’s been craving. If we’re truly honest with one another, we know that pizza and porn rule the world. They’re like a lovesick couple on a cruise liner, up till dawn, perspiring and looking for the next last dance.

Enter Verge (XVG), the $680 million dollar cryptocurrency that partnered with Pornhub for premium subscription payments. It’ll remove all that friction and delete all those credit card statements. If you hop on, crypto-style, you’ll enjoy a seamless and shameless boat ride to bliss.

Pornhub is the 33rd largest site on the internet and the 17th largest site in the US. More people visit Pornhub than LinkedIn, eBay or Bing. It’s got off-the-chart stats that would make any webmaster drool: 3.25 pageviews per visitor, a jaw-dropping 8 minutes of average lingering and a 24.9% bye-bye bounce rate for the committed who know what they like. With Verge, Pornhub is off-the-chain and plugging blockchain at the same time, a double dip made in gratuitous heaven.

So where does all this carnal crypto adoption leave us in the evolution of humankind, efficiency and digital steam?

Porn is set to drive innovation in ways we can barely visualize. VR porn is the number one search term for virtual reality, surpassing VR apps, VR videos and VR games, according to a study by VRporn.com.

Sound familiar? Open, no gatekeepers, direct access, anybody with an internet connection. Maybe Verge is on to something beyond big, hitching its cryptocurrency trailer to the force that shaped VHS and grew the internet.

If VR porn is the biggest thing in the adult entertainment industry since the internet, and cryptos are the biggest thing to revolutionize the internet since the internet, shouldn’t these two hook up? Or at least chat? Pornhub may be giving Verge a nitty-gritty rep, but it also may be just the secret sauce that keeps Verge on top.
