Someone just put a pin in the complex crypto speak that has come to define a class of computer scientists who roll in digital ledger lore and enough arcane speech to fill a stadium. Call him Tim “Drake” Draper – the animated Bitcoin billionaire who remains super bullish on Bitcoin, despite its recent downturn. Addressing a crowd in Amsterdam at The Next Web conference on Friday, Draper dropped some spoken words on his hopes and wishes about crypto, Bitcoin and a new world order. Billboard material or not, he roused the crowd and scored a roaring applause.
Wherever you are,
Thank you for Bitcoin, the blockchain and more
You started this snowball from the top of the hill
And now it’s pervasive
It’s the people’s will
It’s the people’s will
We want a new world order
We want to play across the border
Just wanna be a Hodler
on my Bitcoin hustle
on my Bitcoin hustle
on my Bitcoin hustle
Yeah!
Get your hustle going
Flex that crypto muscle
Yeah!

Draper is infamous for buying nearly 30,000 Bitcoin at a public auction. The stash had been seized from Silk Road by US authorities. He made the purchase in July 2014 when Bitcoin was trading for $650. Bitcoin is now trading at $7,480.
Earlier in the week, Draper gave a more subdued presentation at his alma mater. Addressing a gathering at the Stanford Bitcoin Club, he described the push-pull among vying governments that want to dominate the crypto space and become the international hub of all things blockchain, wooing entrepreneurs, while needing to tame Bitcoin, altcoins and ICOs with regulations. The outcome: lots of skittishness.
Fiat crime may even disappear if Draper’s vision of a more just and verifiable world on the blockchain becomes a reality. As a result of the disruption of the status quo, wealth will flow freely, creating freedom.
