British authorities say they’ve arrested a hacker holding more than $650,000 in Bitcoin. 26 year-old Grant West is accused of carrying out a “one-man cyber crime wave” by stealing personal information from 165,000 people and selling it on the dark web for BTC.

Ethereum (ETH)

One of the largest banks in the Philippines is launching a pilot test to see how the Ethereum blockchain can increase the security and transparency of its transactions. To do so, UnionBank is partnering with ConsenSys, which is an Ethereum-based enterprise solution created by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin.

Shanghai Lingang Economic Development Group will use the VeChainThor Blockchain “on a commercial level alongside events to facilitate knowledge transfer with organizations, both inside and outside of governmental industries.”

Ripple (XRP)
