From a major investment at EOS to the opening of a much-anticipated crypto exchange in Japan, here’s a look at some of the stories breaking in the world of cryptocurrency.
EOS
PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and Bitmain co-founder Jihan Wu are investing in EOS protocol maker Block.one. Wu released a statement saying EOS is “a great example of blockchain innovation. Its performance and scalability can meet the needs of demanding consumer applications and will pave the way for mainstream blockchain adoption.”
Tron (TRX)
Tron just released a project update detailing a number of new developments. The team says it’s next big release, the Tron Virtual Machine, is on target to debut at the end of the month.
Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ripple and XRP
Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings, which launched a new cryptocurrency exchange to a select group of users, is now releasing VCTrade to the masses.
[the_ad id="42537"] [the_ad id="42536"]After a short trial period, the exchange featuring BTC, BCH and XRP is now accepting registrations from the general public and expects to draw users from its huge customer base of more than 23 million people. SBI is a partner with Ripple, which owns 60% of the total supply of XRP.
Stellar (XLM)
Stellar has been officially listed on Kucoin, paired with both Bitcoin and Ethereum. Deposits are up and running now and withdrawals are expected to launch on Wednesday, July 18th.
