From a boost for Bitcoin’s chances at an ETF to a big giveaway at Tron, here’s a look at some of the stories breaking in the world of crypto.
Bitcoin (BTC)
The odds of a Bitcoin ETF approval may have just jumped significantly, now that Elad Roisman has been appointed as the SEC’s newest commissioner.
Roisman has called for the fair treatment of cryptocurrency in the past. “It is essential that the SEC approach these new challenges in a fair and transparent manner,” Roisman said, “provide clarity and certainty to the markets and investors, and enforce the laws and regulations that hold market participants accountable.”
Meanwhile, Coinbase is reportedly considering launching its own cryptocurrency ETF with Wall Street investment management firm BlackRock, according to a new report from Business Insider.
Ripple and XRP
Ripple is one of the top 50 companies in the startup world, according to a new list from LinkedIn. The company is number seven on the list.
Ripple told LinkedIn that “While some blockchain companies are still playing in the sandbox, Ripple is focused on growth, with plans to hire another 75 people by the end of the year.
Tron (TRX)
Binance has announced that it will give away 1,000,000 Tron in a new trading competition.
Anyone with trading volume of at least 300,000 TRX (buys + sells) from now until September 13th is eligible to win part of the proceeds.
Binance Coin (BNB)
The founder and CEO of leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance says he will go above and beyond to promote projects that utilize the exchanges cryptocurrency, Binance Coin.
Changpeng Zhao is promising to personally and shamelessly shill such projects multiple times.
Litecoin (LTC)
Litecoin has just launched a redesign of its main website, Litecoin.com.
The new site is designed to help people and businesses join the Litecoin ecosystem, with info on wallets, crypto debit cards, POS solutions, merchant gateways and more.
EOS and Waves
Ledger has added seven new cryptocurrencies to its hardware wallet, the Ledger Nano S.
EOS, Waves, Hycon (HYC), Rise (RISE), Pirl (PIRL), Fic Network (FIC) and Akroma (AKA) are all now available using the company’s companion app Ledger Live.
