From Tom Lee’s second take on Bitcoin at $25K to new price action from ICE, here’s a look at some of the stories breaking in the world of crypto.
Bitcoin
The head of research at Fundstrat says he still thinks Bitcoin will climb to a fresh all-time high of $25,000. But in a new interview with Fox Business, Tom Lee says it’s proving difficult to predict when that will happen.
Last year, Lee predicted that the price of BTC would hit $25,000 by the end of 2018, but he eventually lowered that forecast to $15,000. Bitcoin ended the year at $3,750.
Ripple and XRP
Crypto exchange Bitstamp has released a visual explainer highlighting the differences and connections between Ripple the company and XRP the digital asset.
While the XRP ledger is the technology backbone that powers Ripple’s network of member banks and payment providers, most members use a Ripple solution that doesn’t actually use XRP to settle payments. That product is xCurrent, which allows banks to message each other in real time.
Ethereum
The blockchain startup Filament has created a proof of concept that uses an Ethereum smart contract to demonstrate how an autonomous vehicle can exchange tokens in order to charge its batteries. In this case, the “vehicle” is a Roomba, the household cleaning robot.
Tron
The exec in charge of Tron’s effort to integrate the blockchain platform with the file-sharing program BitTorrent says the two technologies are a perfect match.
In his keynote speech at Nitron, Justin Knoll reviews how the company plans to connect BitTorrent to the blockchain and looks at how the collaboration will benefit users.
