From a Chinese billionaire’s take on the future of Bitcoin to the launch of three new digital assets on Coinbase, here’s a look at some of the stories breaking in the world of crypto.
Bitcoin
Chinese crypto billionaire Zhao Dong is outlining his prediction on the future price of Bitcoin.
Dong, who is one of China’s biggest over-the-counter crypto traders, says he expects BTC to rally to $10,000 by the coming halving, which is set to happen in May of next year. After another dip, Dong then expects Bitcoin to surge, targeting more than $100,000, reports Bitcoin Magazine.
“Bitcoin price could rise moderately to $10,000 before the halving event next year. After that, it will plunge to somewhere between $6,000 and $7,000,” said Zhao, who added that hopefully a new bull market will arrive by then, which will propel BTC to hit a new peak, somewhere between $50,000 and $100,000 or even higher in 2021.”
Zhao says he believes retail investors and institutions will pour hundreds of billions of dollars into BTC in the coming years.
“What matters most is where the unprecedented amount of capital comes from and how it enters the market. Until then, a new market structure will be defined and we will see shrinking golden opportunities for start-ups and investments in the sector.”
