The developers of the Opera web browser are adding support for Bitcoin (BTC) and Tron (TRX) to the latest release of the popular internet browser. The browser already supports Ethereum and ERC20 tokens.
According to the announcement, Opera’s native crypto wallet for Android has been enhanced.
“In addition to our existing support for Ethereum (ETH), version 54 is introducing support for Bitcoin (BTC), the world’s most popular cryptocurrency. You can now choose to add a Bitcoin card to your wallet, making it possible to send and receive money from the web.”
By adding a Bitcoin card to the wallet, users can start sending and receiving crypto, making online payments to merchants who support such payment options, sending money from wallet to wallet and interacting with DApps.
The new Opera for Android has also added support for Tron DApps which comprise one the largest DApp ecosystems along with rivals EOS and Ethereum.
As the first major browser with a crypto wallet, Opera is focused on creating a simple user experience for mainstream adoption.
The wallet uses Android’s secure system lock that allows users to make transactions on the blockchain without needing additional PIN codes or passwords.
