Yahoo Finance Brings Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Extensive Crypto Data to 70 Million Users

By Daily Hodl Staff

The most popular personal finance website in the US, Yahoo Finance, is bringing extensive cryptocurrency data to the mainstream. Industry leader and crypto price tracker CoinMarketCap (CMC) is now powering Yahoo’s cryptocurrency market data section.

Yahoo’s integration of CMC data further legitimizes an emerging space that reaches well beyond popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP.

Yahoo is pulling CMC data that allows users to track prices, market capitalization, daily trading volume and the circulating supply of 118 coins.

In a tweet to his 19,000 followers, Yahoo Finance writer Daniel Roberts says the website will offer data for thousands of coins.

“We have switched our data partner to CoinMarketCap Real-time data and charts for all the coins — soon 2,000+ of them. Just like our renowned stock charts and data.”

CoinMarketCap says the partnership will allow its team to contribute educational content for Yahoo’s mainstream audience as well as indices.

“Aside from cryptocurrency market data, the CoinMarketCap indices, Crypto 200 (including Bitcoin) and Crypto 200 EX (i.e. excluding Bitcoin) are also available on Yahoo Finance. Incorporating pricing from over 200 exchanges, these indices provide exposure to the broader cryptocurrency market by including the cryptocurrencies that represent more than 90% of global market capitalization as of the index launch date.”

Yahoo is the online leader for personal finance with 70 million unique monthly visitors, followed by MSN with 65 million and CNN with 50 million, according to data compiled by Statista.
