The wallet that received the crypto has moved huge amounts of BTC in the past. This suggests the owner of the wallet could be an exchange, a hedge fund, a custodian or a trader who is constantly shifting funds around for security purposes.
The big move is one of a number of sizable Bitcoin transactions that hit the ledger on Monday. In the last 24 hours, Whale Alert has tracked nine large BTC transactions moving at least 800 BTC.
Traders are also tracking a large movement of XRP sent from the crypto exchange Bithumb to an unknown wallet.
The whale in question moved 51,000,000 XRP worth $8,769,202 for a fee of less than a penny.
The movement could be an XRP trader shifting funds or Bithumb itself moving assets on behalf of its customers.
