Podcaster, announcer, and entrepreneur Adam Curry says everyone should have Bitcoin in their portfolio.
In a new interview with Joe Rogan, Curry says the top cryptocurrency offers a form of insurance against a global calamity.
“This is why Silicon Valley is competing with the US Federal Reserve to be a bank. Everybody wants to be your bank, baby, because that’s when they control you. That’s also when you get loans at negative interest rates so they actually pay you to take the loan, with which you can pay off your student loan…You wanted universal basic income – here it comes. And by the way, it’s going to work… But let me tell you, the apocalypse is coming and you’re going to need the Bitcoin. At least one.”
Curry says his outlook has changed with the recent Fed policy.
“No. I was very anti Bitcoin until I sold a shitload of them at like $900 and I could’ve made a lot of money. I got them for nothing. People just gave them to me at the beginning for nothing and I denied it.”
As for whether Bitcoin is secure and stable, Curry says it’s the only currency that can’t be manipulated.
“”I dont own altcoins and all that stuff….Ten years of data have shown that Bitcoin really is the only one that you can trust. The way I see it is that’s the only one that you cannot manipulate and all the other coins are based off of it…
The US dollar–back to my five thousand dollar truck in the seventies, fifty thousand dollars now – that US dollar has diminished by 10 % because they’ve been printing more and more money.”
