Ripple chief technology officer David Schwartz is revealing more details about his crypto holdings.
Schwartz, who is one of the original architects of the XRP Ledger, says he owns at least 1,000,000 XRP, valued at $555,000 at time of writing.
While he doesn’t want to reveal the exact number of XRP he owns, Schwartz says the number is less than 10,000,000 XRP, which is worth $5,500,000 at its current price of $0.55.
Schwartz has divulged many details on his crypto portfolio this year.
He recently said he’s lost $300,000 by trading altcoins that suffered extreme drops in value, including TIX, DICE, FLASH, VEZT, AMP, SIG, BEE, KIND, PRYZE, KUDOS, and NRN.
Years ago, Schwartz revealed he sold 40,000 Ethereum at $1.00 per coin, sold Bitcoin at $750 and sold XRP at $0.10.
The sales were part of an effort to remove risk from his portfolio and avoid having too many eggs in the crypto basket.
As for his current holdings, Schwartz says they are not as diverse as they used to be. At this point, most of his investments in the crypto space are contained within four crypto assets.
“I own XRP and BTC as well as small amounts of BAT and ETH, and very small amounts of a few others.”
