Whale activity is on the rise as the large crypto entities relocate hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and XRP.
In a flurry of tweets, the blockchain monitoring tool known as Whale Alert reports dozens of large BTC, ETH and XRP transactions in the past day.
One of the largest transactions involved one whale moving 1,500 BTC worth $71.13 million US-based crypto exchange Coinbase to a wallet at the digital asset storage company Xapo.
Additionally, 100 BTC worth $4.8 million suddenly came to life after the crypto moved from a wallet that was last active in 2014.
As for whales of XRP, the big-time crypto investors transferred a total of 435,196,907 XRP worth $241.38 million. Four transfers moved large amounts of the asset from crypto exchanges to unknown wallets while one transaction shifted XRP from one wallet of unknown origins to another unknown wallet.

Looking at Ethereum whales, the large crypto entities moved a total of 94,126 ETH worth $168.9 million in the past day.
Four transactions shifted ETH from a crypto exchange to unknown wallets. In addition, two transactions relocated ETH from a crypto lending platform to wallets of unknown origins while three whales moved ETH between unknown wallets.
