Crypto whales are once again on the move as they abruptly relocate hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Ethereum and XRP.
The large crypto transfers were initially detected by blockchain tracker and analytics tool Whale Alert.
Whale Alert reported that on Thursday, a crypto whale sent more than $84 million worth of XRP from an unknown wallet to another unknown wallet.
On the same day, a crypto whale transferred 50,000 ETH worth nearly $91 million from a wallet of unknown origins to a separate unknown wallet.
The sending whale still has over $50 million worth of Ethereum left in its wallet and over $112 million worth of other ERC20 tokens. Most of the mega whale’s crypto assets are either in the form of Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) or stablecoins such as USD Coin (USDC) and Tether (USDT).
The receiving wallet sent away the 50,000 ETH almost immediately, transferring the sum to a crypto whale with over $672 million worth of altcoins.
In other whale news, Whale Alert reports that a large Bitcoin holder paid 3.64 BTC worth over $100,000 to a confirmed Bitcoin scam.
The scam is a fake giveaway, one of the most popular types of scams that seek to part BTC holders with their precious digital asset.
