Former Facebook marketing executive Kate Rouch has joined crypto powerhouse Coinbase.
According to Coinbase president and chief operating officer Emilie Choi, exponential expansion within the blockchain sphere spurred the decision to hire the company’s first-ever chief marketing officer.
“Our industry is at a critical juncture: the crypto community is growing at a rapid pace and crypto companies are more visible to consumers than ever before.
At Coinbase alone, we now have more than 68 million customers around the world, with more and more people experiencing first-hand the ways crypto improves upon the traditional financial system.”
Rouch joined Facebook in 2010 working for their public policy publicity team, according to her LinkedIn profile. She held several positions for the social media giant. She was vice president for the Facebook and Messenger app marketing team, the Facebook company brand, and the brand and product marketing team.
Her teams garnered numerous global advertising awards while Facebook’s monthly user count leaped from 500 million to nearly three billion during her tenure.
Rouch adds,
“I am so inspired by what I’ve learned about crypto, and the vast ecosystem it is helping to usher forth. At its core, Coinbase is about creating more economic freedom for people.
It is a mission I feel passionately about. I can’t wait to get started helping to introduce millions more people to the benefits of crypto.”
