As BTC floats above $23,000, three huge Bitcoin and Ethereum whales are turning heads among crypto traders.
In total, the whales moved a staggering $743 million in crypto in just three transactions.
A Bitcoin whale made the first move on Friday, sending 13,369 BTC worth $311 million from one unknown wallet to another.
The crypto transaction came from – and arrived at what became – the 65th-largest Bitcoin wallet on record, according to BitInfoCharts.
As the weekend arrived, an Ethereum whale then surfaced, moving 186,009 ETH worth $309 million from one unknown wallet to another unknown wallet.
A few hours later, Whale Alert tracked a second Bitcoin whale sending 5,278 BTC worth $123 million from the crypto exchange Gate.io to an unknown wallet.
That transaction could represent a recent purchase, with an investor moving funds off the exchange and over to a cold wallet. It could also represent someone deciding to move existing funds over to cold storage for security purposes.
After a period of significant volatility, Bitcoin has remained relatively quiet in the last 24-hours. At time of publishing, BTC is down 0.5% in the last day, at $23,305.
Ethereum is up 0.1% in the last 24-hours, at 1,664.
