Retail trading giant Robinhood just introduced a new feature that will allow its users to skip previously necessary steps to reach and fund their accounts.
During CoinDesk’s Consensus 2023 conference in Austin, Texas on Thursday, Robinhood Crypto general manager Johann Kerbrat announced the launch of Robinhood Connect, a crypto on-ramp that will allow users to access and fund their web3 wallets without leaving decentralized applications (DApps) or logging into their accounts.
“We’ve continued to build new products that put the accessibility and usability of crypto front and center for customers, positioning Robinhood as the lowest cost, easiest to use on-ramp to crypto.”
Developers can embed the feature directly into their applications. Robinhood says that Connect is already supported on MyDoge Wallet, Giddy and Slingshot and is set to be rolled out on other platforms including Phantom and Exodus.
“Introducing our latest investment in crypto, Robinhood Connect: A low-cost, on-ramp for customers, and a seamless integration for developers.
Ready to try Robinhood Connect? You can now buy and transfer crypto on MyDoge Wallet, Giddy, & Slingshot. And next up, Exodus & Phantom.”
Last month, Robinhood also updated its self-custodial crypto wallet to make it available to all iOS users. The firm likewise plans to make the app compatible with the Android operating system this year.
