Top US-based crypto exchange platform Coinbase has appointed President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager to its global advisory council.
In a new company blog post, Coinbase says it’s adding four new political and economic leaders to its global advisory council, one of them being Chris LaCivita, a campaign strategist for Trump during his successful 2024 presidential run.
[adinserter block="1"]Others added to the council include former Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema, former president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York Bill Dudley, as well as Luis Alberto Moreno, a Colombian native and former president of the InterAmerican Development Bank Group.
LaCivita – who currently serves as the Chief of Staff for the Republican National Committee – said that the US is on its way to a new era led by pro-crypto leaders and lawmakers.
“The crypto industry deserves better than what it received from the previous administration. I look forward to working with Coinbase as our country transitions into a new political era – led by the first-ever pro-crypto president, and most pro-crypto administration and Congress in history – to help make America a crypto leader on the world stage.”
According to Coinbase, its global advisory council was created to bring together world leaders with strategic insights that could advance the firm’s vision of “ushering in a new era of the internet through crypto and blockchain technologies.”
Other notable members of the council include former Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey, former Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan, and Antonio Villaraigoisa, the former Mayor of Los Angeles.
