A whale with a history of nailing big trends is loading up on blockchain oracle service Chainlink (LINK), according to analytics firm Lookonchain.
Lookonchain says that one whale – who correctly traded the rise of the memecoin Shiba Inu (SHIB), the depeg of USDC and the fall of Terra’s algorithmic stablecoin UST – is on a LINK buying spree.
“A whale spent 4,806 ETH (21.25 million) to buy 938,489 LINK across five wallets hours ago.
This whale is smart:
– Made $4.14 million by trading ETH during USDC depeg
– Dumped ETH before the UST/LUNA crash
– Bought SHIB early and sold all SHIB at the May and Oct 2021 peaks

At time of writing, LINK is trading at $25.75, up 14% in the last 24 hours and 46% in the last 30 days.
Lookonchain also spotted a whale “going crazy” with HYPE, the native token of decentralized derivatives exchange Hyperliquid. According to Lookonchain, a whale whose address starts with 0xa523 deposited 19.38 million worth of USDC into Hyperliquid over the weekend in order to buy more HYPE.
The same whale was also spotted by Lookonchain depositing millions in USDC to buy HYPE and a memecoin on Friday.
“A newly created wallet (0xa523) deposited 23.52 million USDC into Hyperliquid to buy 466,421 HYPE ($21.5 million ) and 2.16 million Fartcoin ($2.12 million).”
At time of writing, HYPE is trading at $46.48, up 6.6% in the last 30 days.
