171,862 Americans Warned After Hackers Attack Healthcare Firm – Names, Social Security Numbers, Financial Accounts Records and More Potentially Exposed

A cyberattack on a healthcare provider in Florida has led to the exposure of sensitive personal, financial, and health data of 171,862 individuals.

According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Doctors Imaging Group says scores of customers are affected by a network server attack.

Doctors Imaging says the unauthorized access happened between November 5 and November 11, 2024, during which files were copied from their systems.

Among the types of data potentially compromised are names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers and types, patient account numbers, medical record numbers, health insurance information, medical treatment and claims details, and admission dates.

Doctors Imaging’s security team completed their internal review on August 29, 2025, and began notifying affected individuals thereafter. In its breach notification to HHS, the firm indicated that is are continuing to evaluate the full scope of the intrusion.

The healthcare provider says it has taken steps to secure its systems, work with federal law enforcement, and enhance cybersecurity controls.

However, unlike many large data breaches, Doctors Imaging has not offered credit monitoring services to affected individuals, instead urging them to review credit reports, set fraud alerts, and monitor financial and medical statements.

Victims are being encouraged to review their explanations of benefits (EOBs), check for unauthorized insurance claims or medical bills, monitor bank and credit statements, and consider placing credit freezes or extended fraud alerts.

ClassAction.org reports that attorneys are currently looking into whether lawsuits can be filed in regard to the data breach.
