Texas Couple Drains $25,000,000 From Investors in Massive Pyramid Scheme, Promising Guaranteed 800% Returns

A married couple in Texas has been convicted of masterminding a multi-million dollar pyramid scheme that promised massive, instant returns.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) says LaShonda and Marlon Moore co-founded and operated an illegal pyramid scheme that targeted people between June 2020 and June 2021.

According to court documents, Moores recruited victims using false promises of 800% returns on their initial investments in weeks and were guaranteed a refund if they were unhappy.

The duo claimed their company, Blessings in No Time (BINT), was a way for people to help others in their community by donating funds and earn money by getting 8x that amount back in just a few weeks. The Moores structured their business using four tiers, each tier asked to recruit others to move up and earn more funds from the ones beneath them, and placed themselves on top, receiving the most funds.

They victimized over 10,000 participants and extracted over $25 million, according to the press release.

As stated by U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs of the Eastern District of Texas.

“The defendants, through their operation of the Blessings in No Time (BINT) pyramid scheme, defrauded over 10,000 individuals of more than $25 million, using false promises and misleading statements to recruit participants.”

They were each convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, five counts of wire fraud, and three counts of money laundering and face decades behind bars.
