‘Partners in Crime’ Drain $9,400,000 From Amazon in Vendor Fraud Scheme, Splurge on Luxury Homes and Cars

Two women have been convicted of ‘brazenly’ stealing nearly $10 million from retail titan Amazon in a fake vendor scheme, splurging the stolen funds on luxury items.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) says 40-year-old Brittany Hudson of Atlanta, Georgia, has been convicted of defrauding Amazon using a scam involving fake invoices and vendors with the aid of her romantic partner, Kayricka Wortham, who worked as an operations manager at an Amazon warehouse.

Authorities say that between January 2022 to June 2022, Hudson – who owned a business that contracted with Amazon to deliver packages – leveraged the position of Worthram to defraud Amazon by having Worthram approve fake vendors as legitimate in order for them to submit invoices.

Using this method, the duo submitted millions of dollars worth of invoices on behalf of fake vendors and pocketed the money, splurging on luxury cars, such as a 2019 Lamborghini Urus, a 2021 Dodge Durango, a 2022 Tesla Model X, a 2018 Porsche Panamera, and a Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle, as well as a $1 million home in Georgia.

Furthermore, in January 2023, while out on bond for defrauding Amazon, the duo lied to a potential business partner, saying that their charges had been dismissed, going as far as faking an email and signature of a federal judge to be convincing.

Worthram was sentenced to 16 years behind bars in 2023 while sentencing for Hudson is scheduled for June 16, 2026.
