In 2018, more people wanted to know how to buy XRP than Bitcoin, according to Google’s 2018 year in review.
The phrase “How to Buy Ripple” was the 4th most popular “How to” question on the platform this year in the US. It ranks ahead of “How to Buy Bitcoin”, which holds the 8th spot on the list.

The results also reveal that many people believe Ripple and XRP are one and the same. Ripple creates software for cross-border payments and utilizes the cryptocurrency XRP in some of its software solutions. The company also owns about 60% of the total supply of XRP.
Overall interest in Bitcoin is definitely not waning. In both the US and the UK, the search term “What is Bitcoin” topped the charts in the “What is” category.
