Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin is increasing its market dominance, now topping 46%. Currently trading near $8,000, the world’s number one cryptocurrency is gaining more hype and speculation that a bull run is in the works. Mati Greenspan, a senior market analyst at eToro, triggered a lively debate after tweeting a huge hypothetical about the potential for the biggest bull run in Bitcoin history. Ethereum (ETH)
Government leaders pushing to create China’s so-called “dream city” have announced a new partnership with Ethereum development studio ConsenSys. The South China Morning Post reports the partnership is designed to help China utilize Ethereum to “establish Xiongan as a next-generation smart city and a leading blockchain innovation hub.” Brooklyn-based ConsenSys, founded by Joseph Lubin, is home to projects such as Zug ID, Meridio and Ujo Music.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has revealed a number of new developments on the platform in a video update. Hoskinson says Cardano 1.3 is currently in the QA phase. He also addressed Ledger support, sidechains and the platform’s smart contract IELE testnet launch.

EOS
EOS is calling on all coders to sign up for its upcoming hackathon in Sydney, one of five events during which winners will receive a total of $1.5 million in rewards. The event will be held at the International Convention Centre from August 4th through the 5th.

The IOTA Foundation has unveiled a new video touting the platform’s promise to revolutionize the Internet of Things. Smart manufacturing, including autonomous machine-to-machine communication, is a core feature of the provocative new release.
