Global fast food chain KFC is reportedly testing a blockchain platform designed to improve transparency in the world of advertising.
KFC Middle East will utilize a blockchain-based solution to track ad campaigns and verify the delivery of ads to increase the company’s visibility and eliminate fraud, reports AMEinfo.
Ozge Zoralioglu, chief marketing officer at KFC and Yum! Brands, says the company expects the solution to streamline the process of generating and analyzing credible and tamper-proof data on how its advertising network is performing.
“Historically, marketers have collected data from various different sources and run a campaign pegged on these mismatched insights.
Today, marketers must get to the original source of the data: the consumer. Blockchain technologies ensure that they get first-hand information from the target audience themselves.”
This is the second time KFC has entered the realm of blockchain technology.
In 2018, KFC Canada sold a “Bitcoin Bucket” that could be bought with BTC through the crypto payment portal BitPay.
