Urgent Data Breach Alert Sent to 377,082 Americans As Gas Station Chain Says Names, Social Security Numbers and Other Personal Information at Risk

A data breach alert is being issued to 377,082 people across the US after a gas station and convenience store chain was hit by a cybersecurity incident.

The disclosure, included in data breach notifications maintained by the Maine Office of the Attorney General, identifies an external system breach affecting thousands of people whose information was stored in the computer systems of Texas-based Gulshan Management Services.

The company operates over 150 Handi Plus and Handi Stop gas stations and convenience stores nationwide.

The breach reportedly occurred between September 17 and September 27, 2025, when unauthorized actors gained access to parts of Gulshan’s network, potentially acquiring personal data stored on its servers.

The incident was subsequently reported to the Attorney General’s offices in multiple states, including Maine, as required under state data security breach notification laws.

According to the filing, the types of information that may have been accessed include full names paired with Social Security numbers, driver’s licenses and other government-issued identification numbers, residential addresses, and other personally identifiable data. While details about financial account information exposure are still emerging, the incident has raised significant concerns about possible identity theft and misuse of personal data.

In response to the breach, Gulshan Management Services has begun issuing notification letters to impacted individuals and is offering complementary identity monitoring and fraud protection services to help mitigate the risk of identity theft.

Affected persons are advised to monitor their credit reports for unauthorized activity, consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze with major credit bureaus, and update passwords and security measures for online accounts.
